Printing Tips

We find we get asked the same questions a lot here at CBF so we though it would be good if we gave you some pointers or tips on how to get your printing right first time and (hopefully) maximum impact.
Some of these tips are common sense but they are good to point out as the the simple things are not always the most obvious - we hope they help.

So to start, 12 Free Tips to getting your Business printing right...

1.       Get a printer to check your artwork before you go to print in order to get a quote this will save you time and money.

2.       Make sure you see and sign off a proof before going to print to check any final spelling mistakes and artwork alignments; this could save you having to re-print the items again.

3.       Did you know that colours vary dependant on paper type/stocks you’re printing on? A gloss paper will be more vibrant for all the colours, a silk has more of a classy feel and a bond paper flattens all colours.

4.       If colour accuracy is important to you make sure your artwork is setup correctly, this might save you a lot of money!

5.       There isn’t a printer around that can print everything, make sure you have found the manufacturer of your materials or you will not have any control over the end product or the cheapest price.

6.       You can now print completely unique documents to your customers for marketing and sales promotions; this is proven to get up to 40% better response than a standard mailing letter; and it’s not expensive to produce.

7.       Digital printing is a quick process and your materials can be printed and delivered to you within 24/48 hours.

8.       Make sure your comparative quotes are like-for-like i.e. include proofs, same quantities, all packaging and delivery.  That way you can assess the true cost for the job.

9.       Red is the loudest colour to use in order to get your message across. Use it in your headlines and highlighted text to make it stand out.

10.   Be clear with your content; think about telling your potential customers what they want to hear. Not ten great things about you, its 10 great things that would benefit them.

11.   Get your customer to act on your material, a call to action. Free reports, Special offers, Limited stocks etc. this will encourage them to get in touch.

12.   Printed materials are still the best form or promotional marketing so make sure your message on all your materials tell people what you do.
